Voter Registration

If you’re already registered to vote, double-check to make sure that all your information is accurate.

If you’re not already registered for the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election, you can register to vote through through Election Day. If you register after the registration deadline, you can cast a provisional ballot.

PHOTO ID: You NO LONGER need a photo ID to vote in Virginia. You will need to show one form of identification, including any government document that shows your name and address, or a bank statement, utility bill, or paycheck. Click here for a full list of acceptable IDs. 

When/Where to vote: 

Election Day

ELECTION DAY is Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Polling places are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. Click here to look up your polling place. Anyone in line at 7:00 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

Absentee Voting

As of July 1, 2020, any Virginia voter may vote absentee in-person or by mail. Absentee ballots are mailed out 45 days before the election. .

Vote by mail: Voting by mail is a safe and convenient way to vote from home! You can request your ballot be mailed to you. Absentee ballots are mailed out 45 days before the election.
